What's included in the free 7-day trial?
The 7-day free trial gives you full READ plan access — beginner and intermediate guides for your vehicle model, full parts registry, saved guides, and read and upvote discussions. No card required. After 7 days your access expires unless you subscribe. Note: the monthly digest email is not included in the free trial. It is available to all paid READ, WRENCH, and WORKSHOP subscribers.
What can READ plan users access?
READ subscribers get full access to all beginner and intermediate guides for their selected vehicle model — all steps, torque specs, and parts lists. Advanced guides and guides for other models require WRENCH or WORKSHOP. READ also includes the full parts registry, saved guides, view and upvote discussions (cannot post or reply), and the monthly digest email. To access advanced guides or participate in discussions, upgrade to WRENCH.
Who can post in discussions?
WRENCH and WORKSHOP subscribers can post new discussion threads and reply to existing ones. READ subscribers can view the full discussion board and upvote threads and replies, but cannot post or reply. Upgrading to WRENCH unlocks full discussion participation.
Can I change my plan?
Yes. Go to your account page at any time to upgrade or downgrade. Changes take effect immediately. If you upgrade, you're billed the difference. If you downgrade, the change applies at your next billing date.
Which model do I get on the WRENCH plan?
When you sign up for WRENCH, you select one Land Rover model. You get full manual access for that model. You can change your model selection once per billing period from your account page.
What is the difference between WRENCH and WORKSHOP?
WRENCH gives you full guide access for one model and lets you contribute — propose edits, open issues, post discussions. WORKSHOP gives you access to all models, all manuals, and unlocks maintainer eligibility, a workshop badge, priority review queue, and early access to new platform features.
What username will I have on CFP1?
When you sign up, CFP1 automatically generates a unique username using the first three letters of your email address followed by five random alphanumeric characters (A–Z and 0–9). For example, if your email starts with abc, your username becomes ABC followed by five hidden characters — displayed publicly as ABCXXXXX. The actual characters are never shown to anyone, including you. Your username is permanent and cannot be changed.
Is my email address visible to other users?
No. Your email address is never shown to other users. Only your masked username (e.g. ABCXXXXX) appears on guide contributions, discussion posts, and replies. Your email is used only for authentication and transactional emails such as account confirmations and subscription receipts.
Can I save guides?
Yes. All subscribers can save guides for quick access from their account page. Tap "save guide" on any guide — including beginner guides on READ plan. Saved guides appear in a list on your account page, where you can also remove them.
Do I receive a monthly digest?
All paid subscribers — READ, WRENCH, and WORKSHOP — receive a monthly email digest on the 1st of each month. The digest covers new guides published that month, top-voted discussions, new parts added to the registry, and platform stats. To unsubscribe from the digest, go to your account page and toggle off the monthly digest option. Your subscription remains active — only the digest email is affected.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by South African consumer law. If you have a billing issue, email hi@cfp1.co.za
— guides & content
How accurate are the guides?
Every guide goes through community review before being marked field-tested. However, vehicle repairs carry inherent risk. Always apply appropriate safety measures and verify critical steps before proceeding. CFP1 does not guarantee the accuracy of any guide.
Can I contribute a guide if I'm on the READ plan?
No. Contributing guides, proposing edits, opening issues, and posting in discussions requires a WRENCH or WORKSHOP plan. READ is a view-only access tier.
What happens to a guide I submit?
Your guide enters a review queue. A maintainer with relevant model experience reviews it. If approved, it merges. If changes are needed, you'll receive feedback. You retain attribution in the guide's version history permanently.
Can I fork a guide?
Yes. WRENCH and WORKSHOP subscribers can fork a guide to create a variant — for example, a guide adapted for a specific year range or an LPG-converted engine. Forks live as branches of the original guide. READ subscribers can view forks but cannot create them.
How do part numbers work?
The parts registry maps OEM Land Rover part numbers to current aftermarket equivalents. When a part number is superseded, the registry updates and all guides that referenced the old number reflect the change.
