terms of service
last updated: April 2026
1. acceptance
These terms are entered into between you and CFP1 (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026 / 192778 / 07, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa, with its registered address at 1 Rocherpan, Dwarskersbos, South Africa, 7365.
By accessing CFP1 at cfp1.co.za, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. the service
CFP1 provides a platform for community-maintained repair guides covering a broad range of Land Rover models across the Series, Forward Control, Defender, Classic Defender Era, and Discovery families. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any guide. Always verify critical repair information and use appropriate safety precautions.
Access to content and features depends on your subscription plan:
READ — browse guide index, full beginner and intermediate guides for your chosen model, parts registry, view and upvote discussions, monthly digest email.
WRENCH — full guide access for one model (all difficulties), post and reply in discussions, submit guide proposals and edits, open issues, monthly digest email.
WORKSHOP — all models and guides, all WRENCH features, write and submit original guides, workshop badge, guide maintainer eligibility, priority review queue, early access to new features, monthly digest email.
The monthly digest is sent on the 1st of each month to all paid READ, WRENCH, and WORKSHOP subscribers. It covers new guides, top-voted discussions, new parts registry entries, and platform stats. Subscribers may opt out of the digest at any time from their account page without affecting their subscription.
WORKSHOP subscribers may submit original repair guides through the guide creation tool. Submitted guides are reviewed by qualified maintainers before publication. All submitted guides must follow the CFP1 protocol. CFP1 reserves the right to reject, edit, or remove any submitted guide that does not meet the protocol standard.
3. accounts
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account credentials.
When you create an account, CFP1 automatically assigns you a permanent, unique username (for example, ABCXXXXX). This username is derived from your email address prefix and five randomly generated alphanumeric characters (A–Z and 0–9). It is used as your public display identity on all contributions and discussions. Your username cannot be changed, transferred, or deleted independently of your account.
Club affiliation badges are awarded at CFP1's discretion following verification of club membership. CFP1 reserves the right to remove badges if membership cannot be verified or is found to be inaccurate.
4. subscriptions and payment
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in South African Rand (ZAR) via Yoco. Payments are non-refundable except where required by South African consumer law. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Monthly: READ — R18/month (~$1*) WRENCH — R54/month (~$3*) WORKSHOP — R90/month (~$5*)
Annual (20% off): READ — R173/year (~$9*) WRENCH — R518/year (~$28*) WORKSHOP — R864/year (~$47*)
* USD amounts are approximate and shown for reference only. All charges are made in South African Rand (ZAR) via Yoco.
5. content and contributions
WRENCH and WORKSHOP subscribers may submit guide proposals, open issues on existing guides, and post in discussions. READ subscribers have view-only access to discussions and guide previews only.
By submitting a guide, edit, or discussion post to CFP1, you grant CFP1 a perpetual, royalty-free licence to publish and display that content. You confirm that your contribution is your own work and does not infringe any third-party rights. Contributions are attributed using your masked username (e.g. ABCXXXXX) — your email address is never displayed publicly.
Original guides submitted through the guide creation tool are subject to the same licence as all other user-generated content. By submitting a guide you confirm the content is your own original work based on direct hands-on experience. You may not submit guides that reproduce content from copyrighted books, publications, or other sources verbatim. Torque specifications, part numbers, and technical data used as factual references are permitted.
CFP1 reserves the right to remove any content that is inaccurate, harmful, or in violation of these terms.
6. disclaimer of warranties
CFP1 is provided "as is". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for purpose of any content on the platform. Vehicle repairs involve risk. You assume all responsibility for repairs carried out using information from CFP1.
7. limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, CFP1 shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any repair carried out based on its content.
8. governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. CFP1 (PTY) LTD is incorporated and registered in South Africa under registration number 2026 / 192778 / 07. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
